FAQ

  • Please check out our Daycare and Boarding pages for all of the information on how to get started!

  • Our evaluation allows us to meet you and your dog prior to daycare or boarding, to not only get a sense of your dog’s history and temperament, but also to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. A typical evaluation lasts a half hour and includes a tour of the facility.

A member of our staff will ask you questions about your dog’s history and behavior, as well as touch your dog’s ears, paws, etc. in order to make sure your dog is comfortable being handled by someone other than you. (As a safety precaution, your dog won’t be interacting with the other dogs at our facility during this initial evaluation.) If your dog passes the evaluation, then they can come have some fun for a half or full day of daycare!

  • Sure, we would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have! Since we are a small facility, we’re unable to accommodate drop-in visits, so if you’d like to take a tour (without your dog), please give us a call or send us a text at 541-726-8435, or email us at oppbarks@outlook.com to schedule a visit.

We look forward to meeting you!

  • We do! We separate dogs by age, size, and temperament, and organize groups to prioritize safety and comfort.

  • We don’t offer official grooming services, but clients are free to add a bath and/or a nail trim during a boarding stay or to a day of daycare! Prices can be found on either our Daycare or Boarding page.

  • We know our clients lead busy lives, and we absolutely try to be accommodating as often as we can, but we do have some restrictions in place that allow our facility to run as smoothly as possible. We don’t offer afternoon drop-offs, and we apologize for any inconvenience. After spending all day together running and playing, by the time the afternoon rolls around, all of the other dogs are pretty tired! Bringing in a new dog with fresh energy can lead to issues, as the other dogs are more interested in taking it easy after a long day. Also, a dog arriving for boarding in the afternoon is only able to interact with the group for a couple of hours before we close, which can be problematic for dogs with lots of energy.

  • Yes! We offer morning half days as an alternate option, which are a great choice for dogs who only need a couple of hours of exercise. Also, if you are boarding your dog and would like to pick them up in the morning, but you can’t pick them up by our 9:30am cutoff, for an extra $20 you can leave them for a half day and come get them at 11:30am instead.

  • Our facility is heated and air-conditioned, so we’re always set for whatever the season wants to throw at us! The small dogs always have access to the inside of the facility, so they can warm up or cool off, and all dogs have plenty of access to shade and water at all times.

In the summer, we put out pools for both small and large dogs, and we turn on the sprinklers for anyone who is into that sort of thing! During cold weather, we have many sweaters in different sizes for dogs who may need to get a little extra toasty. We are very mindful of weather conditions, and we keep our dogs inside if it’s too hot or cold to be safely outside.

  • We do everything we can to accommodate almost every dog. We’ve handled plenty of senior dogs, timid dogs, dogs who need medication, rambunctious puppies…we have been caring for dogs for over a decade, so we have lots of experience. Just give us a call to discuss your dog’s specific situation and and we’ll see what we can do!

  • They’re going to spend most of the day hanging out with the other dogs and daycare staff! Daycare dogs and boarders are on the same daycare schedule, so boarders spend the majority of their day roaming around freely with friends. We also have a midday nap time scheduled so dogs can rest up before playing again. The price of boarding includes a full day of daycare each day, so our boarders have complete access to the yard, toys, treats and personal staff attention as part of their vacation. We want everyone to feel like they are part of the Opportunity Barks family!
