Welcome To The Team!
We’re so excited to have you join us, and we’re looking forward to getting to know you better and introduce you to all of the dogs!
Please complete the steps listed below, if possible before your first orientation meeting, but definitely before your first day of work.
We know there might seem like a lot of steps, but they all play an important role in getting you set up, and some of them will definitely be helpful as you begin to learn the ropes!
-
Download the Ring app (here’s the iPhone link and Android link) and then create an account (your email and any password). Then, either during your orientation meeting or on your first day, we’ll get you connected to the daycare’s Ring device.
-
Download the Photocircle App (here’s the iPhone link and Android link) and create an account (your email and any password). Then either during your orientation or on your first day, we’ll invite you to our albums.
-
The software we use for the daily facility operations is called Gingr, and it’s browser-based (it’s not an app, so downloading the Gingr app will lead you in the wrong direction!).
Click HERE to head to the employee signup page, where you’ll create an account (you’ll use your email and any password for your profile). Once you’ve done that, we can activate your Gingr profile and you can start messing around and see how we manage all of the craziness of the facility!

We would love to get to know you a bit better! By having you fill out this form, we hope we can get everyone started on the right foot by making sure we use your accurate pronouns, find out if you have any allergies, and just a few more quick questions to make sure you and everyone else are as comfortable as possible as you settle into the team :)
-
So, we know these suck, but you only have to fill them out once!
If you have access to a printer, feel free to bring these already filled out
If you have an iPhone, you can take screenshots of the forms and fill these out using the editing feature in your Photos app. Then you can send screenshots back and we can print them
Or we can of course have hard copies waiting for you during your orientation meeting
Any of the above work for us!
—I9 Form (please make sure you either physically bring in, or take pictures of, two types of ID as listed on the form)
—Direct Deposit form (if you plan to fill this form out during your orientation session, please make sure you have your banking info handy when you show up, or bring a voided check with you)

Our goal is to create the safest environment possible for the dogs in our care, so teaching all staff the basics of dog behavior is crucial!
All employees are required to complete a series of online dog courses, designed to help everyone learn about dog body language, dog psychology, fight protocol, and many other important aspects of group dog care.
Here is the Online Learning Dashboard. You’ll only be able to login after you’ve provided us with an email address, so once you’ve done that, you can click the above link, use the password “Password1” for now, and you should be good to get started on the courses!
We have a designated senior staff member that will act as a learning coordinator to help guide you as you go through the chapters, so they’ll help you apply what you learn in real time at work. They are there to help in any way, and please always ask if you need clarification or guidance about anything at all!
-
This thing is a thousand pages long, so we of course don’t expect you to read every word of it! It just covers how we operate, and we want to make sure we cover as many bases as possible.
There is an index on the left side of the page, and you can navigate directly to parts that may be of interest to you, or things about the facility, position or company protocol you may have questions about. Please of course let us know if you have any questions or concerns about anything you come across!
A link to the Employee Handbook will also be included in your Gingr Employee Profile, so it can be accessed several ways.

Listen, this is a daunting list, and there’s no universe where this will make sense to you yet! But it’s just an overview of what a basic daily routine looks like, and some people find it helpful to get a sense of the job upfront in a condensed way.
But, since there really is no such thing as a true “standard day” at the daycare, your actual daily routine will vary depending on the weather, amount of dogs, group dynamics, etc.
The Daily Tasks List isn’t meant to be an exact explanation of every day, just the foundation of the routine that we all learn, and then we do what we can with whatever the day throws at us.
If you like having a work environment where every day is different, then you’re going to thrive here!

A huge perk of this job is the possibility of being able to bring your dog to work with you! However, employee dogs must meet our requirements in order to be allowed to come for daycare or boarding:
-There is a 60 to 90 day trial period before we will meet your dog, to make sure you are settled into your position and have come far enough along in the learning process for us to consider having your dog show up with you
-Your dog must have been in your home for at least 4 weeks
-Your dog must be fixed if older than 9 months
-Proof of a recent negative fecal exam (conducted within the last two weeks)
-Records with proof of up-to-date Bordetella (annual), Rabies and DHPP vaccines
-All dogs must come in for an evaluation, then pass a half day to be able to come to work with you. They must also pass a full day to be allowed to come for daycare. And they must pass an overnight to be allowed to board
-As long as your dog doesn’t distract you at work, and as long as your dog fits into the group and our environment, they can come to work with you as often as you’d like ☺️
