2. Is daycare only for young dogs or can senior dogs benefit too?

2. Daycare can provide enrichment even for our dear seniors. While they may not romp for hours like the youngsters do, seniors often find a friend to hang out with, be it canine or human.

3. Is daycare safe for my dog?

3. At OPPORTUNITY BARKS, safety and health are our top priorities. Our playgroups are supervised 100% of the time to ensure the safety of every dog. Our staff members have been trained in daycare operations, are pet technicians certified through the Pet Care Services Association (formerly known as the American Boarding and Kennel Association), have completed pet CPR and first aid, and attend extensive training in animal behavior annually.

4. Should I bring my dog’s toys to daycare?

4. No. We supply lots of appropriate chew toys, such as balls, bones and Kongs. If, however, your dog will be boarding with us, you may bring her favorite toys, which will be kept in her very own room.

5. My dog had an adverse reaction to a vaccine and my veterinarian said he should not receive this vaccine again. Can I still bring my dog to OPPORTUNITY BARKS?

5. We will make exceptions to our vaccination policy on a case-by-case basis upon the written recommendation of your veterinarian.

6. Should I bring my dog’s own food and snacks when I board him?

6. Yes. Each meal should be individually bagged and labeled with your dog's full name. Please bring at least two extra days of food in case you need to extend your dog’s stay. OPPORTUNITY BARKS provides a fresh baked treat just before bedtime for all overnight guests. Due to the choking hazard they present, we do not allow rawhide treats or “greenies” from home.

7. My dog needs medications; can you administer them?

7. Oral and injectable medications can be administered during your dog’s stay for no extra charge. All medications must be in the original labeled containers. Do not package medications in with your dog’s food.

8. Should I bring my dog’s own bedding?

8. We provide appropriate bedding for all overnight guests. If you prefer to bring your dog’s own bedding, please be sure it is clean on arrival and clearly marked with your dog's name. The cover and lining must be 100% machine washable.

9. What if I need to pick up or drop off my dog outside of your regular business hours?

9. Appointments can usually be scheduled for service outside of our regular hours. Please contact us with your requests. Additional fees may apply for all after hour services.

10. Can my dog just board at OPPORTUNITY BARKS and not participate in daycare?

10. No. Our goal is to provide our overnight guests with the same stimulating social environment that our daycare dogs enjoy. Which is why our boarding price includes daycare. Dogs who cannot mix with other dogs are not appropriate candidates for our boarding and daycare services. Feel free to ask us about other options.
