Boarding

Boarding
Whether you’re traveling for business or a fun-filled vacation, why leave your dog in a traditional kennel when you can board your dog with us. OPPORTUNITY BARKS offers overnight boarding combined with daycare for one price so that you can have peace of mind knowing that your dog is having a great time while you’re away.

OPPORTUNITY BARKS is a state of the art facility built to give dogs a clean, comfortable and fun place to stay. During the day, your dog will enjoy a safe, closely supervised indoor/outdoor playground with their canine friends. At nighttime, your tired pup will be escorted to his very own suite equipped with his own toys, fresh water, and a comfortable bed.

Reservations are required in advance, especially during the holiday season.

Boarding rates are as follows:

BoardingSingle DogAdditional Dog
Evaluation$20$20
Single Night$40$32
Weekly rate (7 nights)$250/wk$200/wk
Additional nights (after one week)$32$28

Boarding dogs who check out prior to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays and 12 noon on weekends will not be charged for daycare. If, however, checkout is later than these specified times, you will be charged a full day of daycare.

Overnight Camper Requirements
  • Your dog must pass our temperament evaluation. (PLEASE SUBMIT A REGISTRATION APPLICATION).
  • Your dog must be in their current home for at least one month.
  • Your dog must be at least 4 months old.
  • Your dog must be spayed or neutered. (All puppies must be altered by 6 months of age.)
  • Your dog must be people and dog friendly.
  • You must provide proof from your dog's vet of a negative fecal test as well as current Distemper/Parvo combo, Rabies and Bordatella (Canine Cough) vaccinations. We also accept titers.
  • All dogs MUST be on leash when brought to OPPORTUNITY BARKS.

PLEASE NOTE: Dogs who have not boarded with us before will be asked to come for at least one and a half days of daycare prior to boarding. If your dog is still demonstrating signs of discomfort or stress after that day and a half of daycare, we may request that your dog come for additional days of daycare prior to your scheduled boarding dates to complete the evaluation process and ensure the comfort and safety of your dog.

Dogs who have not come to OPPORTUNITY BARKS for three months or more may also be required to come for at least a single day of daycare prior to boarding to reacquaint him or her with our staff, facilities and procedures. Please plan for this possibility sufficiently in advance of your dog’s visit.

Registration

Before your dog comes to stay, 4 steps need to be completed:

1. Fill out and submit an Online Registration Form.

2. For dogs new to OPPORTUNITY BARKS, we will contact you in 1-3 days to set up an appointment for a temperament evaluation of your dog.

3. Come in with your dog for an initial consultation and temperament evaluation. The initial consultation requires a one-time fee of $20.

4. Bring a copy of your dog’s records of vaccination and fecal test. If your dog is recovering from and/or taking antibiotics for an illness or infection, you must also provide written clearance from your vet stating that the dog is safe to be around other dogs (i.e., is not contagious).

What To Bring For Your Dog's Stay
  • Food: Each meal should be individually bagged and labeled with your dog's full name. Please bring at least two extra days of food in case of a need to extend your dog's stay. If you bring large bags of kibble instead, please attach instructions, including your dog's full name and the amount of food per meal.

  • Medications: If your dog becomes ill during their stay with us, they will be given prompt medical care. Any medication your dog is taking will be continued during their stay with us according to your vet's directions. All medications must be brought in with your dog in sufficient quantity to last throughout their stay. Please bring any medication in its original container when possible.

  • Bed, Sheet or Crate Mat (Optional): We have plenty of beds, blankets and cots for our overnight campers, but feel free to bring their own bed if you feel it will make them more comfortable during their stay with us. Please write your dog's name on their bed.

  • Treats (Optional): We provide our overnight campers with home-baked treats, but feel free to bring their own treats. No long-term chews, rawhides or greenies, please.

  • Worn Article of Clothing or Toy (Optional): Please write your dog's name on any personal belongings you pack for them.

  • Contact Information: You must provide your travel contact information, as well as contact information for someone who can be reached by phone. Your emergency contact should be someone who is willing and able to come to OPPORTUNITY BARKS within a few hours if necessary to pick up your dog in the event of an emergency, especially if you plan to be out of the local area during your dog's stay.
